Planned Parenthood Under Attack - Finally!

Abbey Johnson is a former employee of Planned Parenthood who has become pro-life and is now speaking out against the eugenics organization that promotes the killing of the babies of poor and minority women as the solution to social problems.

She writes:
"Myths about Planned Parenthood are spreading like grassfire. Thanks to a perfect storm of events, the abortion provider is scrambling to cauterize the biggest PR hit it has ever sustained. November's election of an overwhelmingly pro-life Congress, revelation of numerous violations by its staff and repeated calls for its defunding by social and fiscal conservatives alike have put Planned Parenthood's lifeblood on the line.

Planned Parenthood's bottom line is numbers. And, with abortion as its primary money-maker, that means implementing a quota. I know this is true because I worked at one of their Texas clinics for 8 years, two as the clinic director.

Though 98 percent of Planned Parenthood's services to pregnant women are abortion, Planned Parenthood and its political allies have sworn up and down that taxpayer dollars do not to pay for abortion. But of course they do. Planned Parenthood gets one-third of its entire budget from taxpayer funding and performed more than 650,000 abortions between 2008 and 2009. An abortion is expensive. Its cost includes pay for the doctor, supporting medical staff, their health benefits packages and malpractice insurance. As clinic director, I saw how money affiliate clinics receive from several sources is combined into one pot, not set aside for specific services.

Planned Parenthood's claim that abortions make up just 3 percent of its services is also a gimmick. That number is actually closer to 12 percent, but strategically skewed by unbundling family planning services so that each patient shows anywhere from five to 20 "visits" per appointment (i.e., 12 packs of birth control equals 12 visits) and doing the opposite with abortion visits, bundling them together so that each appointment equals one visit. The resulting difference between family planning and abortion "visits" is striking.

But that's not the only deception Planned Parenthood is spreading.

It also claims to help reduce the number of abortions. Not only is this not what Planned Parenthood actually accomplishes, but its goal couldn't be more opposite. As a Planned Parenthood clinic manager, I was directed to double the number of abortions our clinic performed in order to drive up revenue. In keeping, Planned Parenthood headquarters recently issued a directive mandating that all of its affiliates provide abortions by 2013.

Planned Parenthood is also spending a lot of money convincing its primary income providers - taxpayers - that its highest priority is women's health and safety. Live Action and the Expose Planned Parenthood coalition released numerous undercover videos showing clinic staff aiding and abetting alleged sex traffickers in exploiting underage girls - some as young as 14.

After initially downplaying the first video as a scam, Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey came under so much pressure that it fired the office manager in the footage. New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow quickly called for an investigation, but Planned Parenthood's problems don't end with firing one office manager. Later Live Action videos revealed an unbroken chain of similar problems in clinics up and down the East Coast."
Read the rest here.

But Planned Parenthood has friends in high places. For example, here is Senator Charles Schumer of New York pledging allegiance to the the cause of abortion on demand.
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) vowed yesterday that the provision to defund Planned Parenthood that passed the House earlier this year will “never, never, never going to pass the Senate.”

Schumer made the remarks Thursday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., at a “Stand Up for Women’s Health” rally sponsored by the National Organization for Women, NARAL and Planned Parenthood.

It appears that Barack Obama and the radicals who have taken over the Democratic Party would rather shut down the US government than give an inch on abortion. When Harry Reid calls the Republican "dominated by ideology" he is projecting onto them his own motivations.

The pro-eugenics and pro-abortion side is powerful, well-funded and determined. Only prayer can cause such strongholds to be shaken. Let us pray.

The Myth of Contraception

For over 50 years now we have been fed a myth that is very damaging to society and to the souls of men and women. That myth is that the widespread manufacture, marketing and use of contraception is morally neutral and even beneficial because it prevents abortions.

This myth is wrong on all counts. Contraception is soul-destroying. It contributes to family breakdown and sexual sin. And, to top it all off, it also increases the number of abortions rather than reducing them.

Kristen Powers at The Daily Beast has a good article in which she discovers the truth about the relationship of contraception to abortion. The facts usually shock people when they get around to examining them. Here is an excerpt:

Turns out, a 2009 study by the journal Contraception found, in a 10-year study of women in Spain, that as overall contraceptive use increased from around 49 percent to 80 percent, the elective abortion rate more than doubled. This doesn’t mean that access to contraception causes more abortion—though some believe that—but that it doesn’t necessarily reduce it.

In the U.S., the story isn’t much different. A January 2011 fact sheet by the pro-abortion rights Guttmacher Institute listed all the reasons that women who have had an abortion give for their unexpected pregnancy, and not one of them is lack of access to contraception. In fact, 54 percent of women who had abortions had used a contraceptive method, if incorrectly, in the month they got pregnant. For the 46 percent who had not used contraception, 33 percent had perceived themselves to be at low risk for pregnancy; 32 percent had had concerns about contraceptive methods; 26 percent had had unexpected sex, and 1 percent had been forced to have sex. Not one fraction of 1 percent said they got pregnant because they lacked access to contraception. Some described having unexpected sex, but all that can be said about them is that they are irresponsible, not that they felt they lacked access to contraception.

Read it all here.

Planned Parenthood and all the condom pushers are wrong. More contraception equals more and riskier sexual activity, which results in more unplanned pregnancies. Contraception is not part of the solution; it is part of the problem.

Planned Parenthood Defunded in New Jersey: Is Governor Christie Preparing to Run for President?

Governor Chris Christie has responded to the recent expose of Planned Parenthood by LiveAction (see previous post) by taking advantage of this moment to announce his veto of a bill restoring the Planned Parenthood funding he previously eliminated in New Jersey. LifeNews.com reports:
"Following the release of a video that has received nationwide attention showing Planned Parenthood staff at a New Jersey abortion center helping alleged sexual traffickers cover up their crimes with abortions and STD testing, Governor Chris Christie has vetoed a bill funding Planned Parenthood.

A new undercover video shows Planned Parenthood officials in New Jersey telling a pimp and his prostitute assistant how they can get abortions for young teenage girls who, Planned Parenthood officials are informed, are Asians in the country illegally and forced into the sex trade. The staffer was later fired for her actions.

The Perth Amboy abortion center where the video is filmed is the second-largest Planned Parenthood center operated by Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey and the abortion business plans to double its number of abortion centers in the state.

Christie has already yanked state taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood but the state legislature sent him a bill to restore the taxpayer funds.

Marie Tasy, Executive Director for New Jersey Right to Life, applauded the veto in an email to LifeNews.com.

“We thank Governor Christie for vetoing this bill. A3273/S2393 would have forced taxpayers to support the activities and expansion of an organization that was caught on tape aiding and abetting in the sex trafficking and abortions of minors as young as 14. In vetoing this bill, Governor Christie has ensured that NJ taxpayers will not be complicit in the sexual abuse and exploitation of poor women and minors under the pretense of ‘women’s health,’” she said.

“Over the last year, several New Jersey lawmakers endorsed by Planned Parenthood have continued to defy the Governor and push legislation to use taxpayer money to fund these clinics,” she said. “Using buzz words and phrases like ‘gender equity’ and ‘poor women’s access to health care,’ these lawmakers have invoked ‘mothers, daughters, wives, sisters and friends who may one day find themselves without health care’ to try to obtain support for their misguided attempts to fund Planned Parenthood.”

“After viewing this video, we ask, who in their right mind would trust their mother, wife, sister, friend and especially their minor daughter to Planned Parenthood?” she added.

Family research Council President Tony Perkins also praised Christie:

“As the unethical and illegal activities of Planned Parenthood continue to be exposed, the pressure will build not only here in Washington but in states across the nation to end taxpayer subsidies to the nation’s largest abortion organization. Undercover sting operations in New Jersey and around the country demonstrate Planned Parenthood’s willingness to cover-up sexual abuse and even exploit victims of child prostitution,” he said. “I commend Governor Chris Christie for refusing to underwrite the apparent criminal behavior of Planned Parenthood. His commitment to both human dignity and fiscal responsibility deserve high praise.”

The bill would have restored the family planning funds his administration cut from the state budget because of deep economic troubles. The money flows in part to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business.

The funds go to 58 family planning clinics but Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion chain, runs 29 of the facilities.

Although the tax money doesn’t directly fund abortions, Christie thinks there’s little reason to send the abortion centers $7.5 million when the state currently faces an $11 billion deficit.

As of June, Christie had been resolute in his decision to cut the funds.

“I don’t believe that is a priority in a budget where you have to cut $11 billion,” the governor said. “I believe that women have the opportunity to access health care all across New Jersey. Family planning has nothing to do with mammograms, and don’t put the two of them together.”

Christie headlined a pro-life rally marking the recent anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that allowed virtually unlimited abortions.

Contact Governor Christie at http://www.nj.gov/nj/feedback.html to thank him for the veto.

Good for Governor Christie. Now, I'm sure he is acting out of conviction and I'm sure he is sincere in saying that he has not been Governor of New Jersey long enough to run for President. But here are the facts:

1. The Republican field is wide open. The front-runner, Romney, is a lame duck because of Romneycare. The most popular Republican among conservatives, Sarah Palin, may not have enough appeal to Independents to win a general election. No one has a big lead in the polls. The field is wide open to a late entry. Christie? Ryan? Rubio? Perry? Daniels?

2. Christie has been taking pains to do what Mitch Daniels should have been doing during the past few months, namely shoring up his social conservative credentials, particularly on abortion. Christie's bold moves contrast favorably with Daniels' lame call for a "truce" on social issues - as if the other side would ever do that.

3. Christie's moment may be now because the 2016 Republican field will be crowded - unless a 2012 winner is in place going for a second term.

Can you imagine how successful Christie would be at raising money online nationally? I think that if he goes for it he might very well win.

Planned Parenthood Encourages Sex Trafficking and Underage Prostitution

John McCormack in The Weekly Standard has an article on the latest Planned Parenthood scandal in which a clinic manager is caught on tape advising a person posing as an underage prostitution ring operator how to procure abortions for underage prostitutes. In "Planned Parenthood's Incoherent Response to Sex Trafficking Video" he writes:
Yesterday, pro-life activist Lila Rose released a video that showed the manager of Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey advising a man, posing as a sex trafficker, on how he should go about evading the law in order to get abortions and STD-testing for his 14-year-old prostitutes/sex slaves.

"We're involved in sex work," the man tells Planned Parenthood manager Amy Woodruff. "Some of [the prostitutes] are like, ah, they're kind of young. Some of them are like 15, 14, and some of them don't speak any English," he continues, asking Woodruff why the prostitutes shouldn't be worried they'll be reported while coming in for Planned Parenthood's services.

"As long as they just lie and say, 'Oh, [my sexual partner is] fifteen, sixteen.' You know, as long as they don't say 'fourteen' and as long as it's not too much of an age gap then we just kind of like--then we just kind of play stup[id]," says Woodruff.

"It's like, you know, she's still entitled to care without mom knowin' what the hell's goin' on," says Woodruff. As shocking as Woodruff's words may be, they're actually a concise summary of the New Jersey Supreme Court's 2004 ruling that invalidated the state's parental consent law. Despite the court's decision to enshrine a right to abortion-on-demand for teens, the Planned Parenthood employee is still willing to run afoul of laws against covering up statutory rape and sex trafficking. Woodruff even gives the 'pimp' advice on what kind of sex acts his prostitutes should perform while they're recovering from abortions. "Waist up, or just be that extra action walking by,” she says.

Planned Parenthood's response to this sting video has been rather incoherent. On one hand, a spokesman for the organization accuses Lila Rose's group of using "surreptitious videotaping and manipulative editing." That defense hasn't worked too well for the men caught on NBC's To Catch a Predator, and it doesn't seem to be working out for Planned Parenthood either. Today Planned Parenthood fired Woodruff for the statements she made on the tape. That's a clear concession that the tape is authentic and accurate, right? (And you don't need to take anyone's word for it. You can watch the full unedited version of the tape here).

Read the rest here.

Planned Parenthood is an evil conglomerate that targets the weak, the vulnerable and the helpless for exploitation in the name of a radical, anti-family, anti-God ideology. They should be put out of business and would be in a civilized society. But they have friends in high places to whom they have channeled gobs of money over the years - politicians like Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi.

Let us hope that the new pro-life Republican majority in the House is able to defund this organization that receives hundreds of millions of tax-payer money every year. And let us pray that after 2012 this organization is put out of business for once and for all by the unbiased application of the law.
