A Sign of the Times: The "Messiah" Begins to Wobble
He has divided the country and lost the independents on whose support all presidents depend. He has been so inept that he has made people speculate with a straight face that maybe he is trying to destroy American exceptionalism on purpose. Clearly, he would like to transform America into a highly secularized European-style social democracy. And the fact that that is his goal seems to be, in the estimation of many, to be due to the reality that the "People's Republic of America" simply is out of reach in the near future.
I predicted at the beginning of 2010 that by the end of 2010 there would be talk of Hillary Clinton challenging Obama for the nomination in 2012. Here is the first TV ad calling for Hillary in 2012.
I stand by my prediction that there will be "talk" of this happening but I now think the likelihood of it actually happening is going up by the week. If the Democrats lose both the House and the Senate in November, I think it is certain to happen. Respected pollster Charlie Cook is now saying that the possibility of the Democrats losing the Senate is "plausible." Sean Trende is talking about the possibility of the Republicans pulling off the greatest mid-term victory in American history of up to 80-100 seats. Larry Sabato is predicting a net gain of 47 House and 8 Senate seats, but acknowledges that Republicans have an "outside shot" of winning control of the Senate too.
Somewhere in a plane over some foreign country or other, Hillary Clinton is smiling.

Hillary Clinton Only Insults Democratic Allies: But She is Afraid of Putin
"First you told your host that Aboriginals should have been at the five-country summit on the Arctic. I am not aware that the United States invites any Native Americans to international governmental meetings. This conservative government as most liberal governments before it typically bend over backwards to accommodate Aboriginal and First Nations concerns. Land, rights, money, status, you name it, Canada cannot give it quickly enough and you are telling us we need to take into account Aboriginal concerns? Where in the history of American relations with its Native Indians do you find ground to critique Canada on this point of public policy?"Ouch! And then this zinger:
"To top it off, you tell our government that it must not wish to be against abortion in its international policy. Now you are jumping into the deep end of our domestic politics. There are Canadians who agree with Prime Minister Harper on this (I am one of them). Pro-life Canadians get scorned and dismissed in this debate and now the United States has to be added to the list of those telling us that we should not be against abortion? You could not get a resolution from your own Congress backing up what you told Canadians."Here we see the real point: Clinton does not really speak for America. She is the voice of the loony left which got elected accidentally because (a) many Americans, including those who are routinely slandered as "racist" by the loony left, really wanted an African-American president and (b) Obama dishonestly campaigned as a bi-partisan centrist only to start governing from the extreme left upon assuming power. America will begin to rectify this mistake in Nov. 2010 and will finish the job in Nov. 2012.
We should not be anti-American as long as these insulting characters are not truly representative of our neighbors to the south.
Jennifer Rubin has the Obama foreign policy all figured out - and she is not the only one.
"While Hillary Clinton congratulates herself for the state of U.S.-Israeli relations, she is, for now, on the receiving end of what one might genuinely call an affront. It seems that Vladimir Putin read her the riot act — in front of the onlooking news corps. Oh, yes. ABC News reports:
When reporters traveling with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Moscow were informed that a last-minute meeting with Russia’s Prime Minister Valdimir Putin had been added to the schedule, they were told they would only get to see a few seconds of handshakes before being ushered out.
Instead, with cameras rolling, they watched Putin spend six minutes rattling off a number of complaints he has with the United States.
He barked about trade and scolded her about the 1974 Jackson-Vanik amendment. “Reporters were surprised at the length of Putin’s list of issues and the fact that he did it in front of the Russian and American press corps, a pool reporter noted.” In other words, Putin went out of the way to bully the U.S. Secretary of State in public. Just to show who is boss? And this follows the announcement that, instead of cooperating to isolate Iran, Russia will build a nuclear power plant for the mullahs — an announcement issued to “greet” Hillary.
In short, the Russians have now shown us what resetting the U.S.-Russian relationship means. Putin has figured out that there is no risk — so long as you aren’t a small democratic ally of the U.S. — of incurring the wrath of the Obami. No condemnations or even frowns will be forthcoming. This is, you see, what comes from throwing ourselves at our adversaries’ feet and scorning our allies. Adversaries learn to take advantage of us while friends learn not to trust us."
We Canadians should not trust the Obama administration when they are out of our sight. And if they think that this is the kind of treatment that inclines Canadians to think about extending our troop commitments in Afghanistan they are deluded. What should worry us and the rest of the world is the extent to which America's enemies grow bolder every day thinking they can act with impunity. Out of such situations come tragedies.

Kick Your Friends, Hug Your Enemies - That is How to Have a Happy Neighbourhood
"Hillary Clinton was openly critical of Canada’s organization of an Arctic meeting, skipped a news conference on the topic with Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon and then went on national television to appeal to Canadians to stay in Afghanistan. She is way nicer to the Mullahs trying to build an atomic bomb with which to nuke Israel. We peaceful Canadians aren't doing anything to hurt anybody. There is a lesson somewhere here, let me see what is it? Of course, I got it. We should announce that we are building nuclear weapons and missiles that can reach every blue state in the union. Then we can be best pals again. After all that, Canadian officials might have been excused if they woke up Tuesday wondering what the U.S. Secretary of State might do for an encore on the second day of her Canadian visit.
Turns out she had one more pot to stir, telling a Gatineau meeting of G8 foreign ministers that any initiative to improve maternal health – Ottawa’s signature global project this year – must include abortions, an option the Conservative government has tried to avoid."
Insult your friends and overlook the failings of your enemies: this is how the Obama administration thinks you restore the reputation of the US after the George Bush years? Obama already has parts of Europe missing Bush and pretty soon his arrogance is going to convince his allies that there is absolutely no advantage to helping out the US when the US comes calling.
Maybe Obama doesn't care because he wants to reduce American military power and adopt an isolationist stance anyway. So he thinks he doesn't need allies. Well, that is a frightening and naive posture to adopt. It was already tried before and didn't work out so well - you know that whole Pearl Harbor thing.
But there is one more thing I want to point out about Clinton's fanatical, zealous, ideologically driven, Liberal Protestant need to promote Molech worship everywhere she goes.
"You cannot have maternal health without reproductive health and reproductive health includes contraception and family planning and access to legal, safe abortions,” Clinton said Tuesday.“I do not think governments should be involved in making these decisions. It is perfectly legitimate for people to hold their own personal views based on conscience, religion or any other basis. But I’ve always believed that the government should not intervene in decisions of such intimacy,” she said."
Now even by Clinton standards this is an astonishingly self-contradictory piece of dissimulation. First she says that government should not be involved in making abortion related decisions. Than she says that it should be government policy to fund abortions, rather than actual maternal health care, in foreign aid. And to top it off, the government making the decision to fund abortion in a poor African country, for example, should not be the African country's government but the rich Western country's government.
This is imperialistic, colonialist, eugenic thinking by a proud recipient of the Margaret Sanger Award. Disgusting . . . even for a Clinton.
Socialist Logic and Feminist Progress
Question: Mr. Rae, Secretary of State Clinton said just moments ago that the government’s maternal health plan – she panned it saying it should include contraception, it should include abortion. How do you read into that?Ah well, if, as they say, consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds, then Bob Rae's mind must be as vast as the ocean. Must be Socialist logic. . .Bob Rae: Well, a government that’s controlled by a neo-conservative agenda is not – in today’s world not going to be able to fashion a serious consensus either with the Europeans or with the Americans. … These guys have been labouring under an illusion that somehow if you bring in a neo-con agenda that’s going to prove interesting to countries like the United Kingdom and France and Germany and the United States which have been at this very important work on maternal health for a long time. …this is the consequence of having an administration in Canada that has an agenda that’s out of step with most other countries in the world.
Question: But the fact that it was the Secretary of State though, does that add extra weight in your mind?
Bob Rae: No kidding. The Secretary of State of the United States, of course it adds weight. …
Question: The Secretary of State also says thought that Canada should stay in Afghanistan in a military mission. Do you think they should follow that advice?
Bob Rae: Of course not. …
On another note, it sure is a good thing we now have women politicians. When it used to be only men politicians all we heard about was men politicians talking about killing and war. Now it is different. Now we have women politicians talking about killing and war. This, my friends, is feminist "progress."

Clinton Announces More Funding for Abortion and Contraception
"(NEW YORK – C-FAM) In Washington last week, United States (U.S.) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that the United States would engage in a massive funding push over the next five years to promote “reproductive health care and family planning” as a “basic right” around the word. Clinton has previously stated for the record that this includes abortion. The plan includes potentially siphoning off funds currently directed towards fighting HIV/AIDs, tuberculosis and malaria.Everyone who voted for Obama is implicated in this deception and in this attack on unborn children using the Orwellian language of "health." The so-called domestic health care reform bill now before Congress is that massive program of federal funding for health insurance that covers murdering unborn children. There is grim consistency to this administration's efforts at home and abroad. The liberal way to deal with poor people is to make sure that there are a lot less of them in the future. That way, rich people don't have to give up anything and poverty is reduced. That is the Hillary (Margaret Sanger Award Winner) Clinton way and that is the liberal way.
Commemorating the fifteenth anniversary of the controversial International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo, Clinton said there were only five years left to achieve ICPD’s goal that “all governments will make access to reproductive healthcare and family planning services a basic right.”
Last April, in testimony before the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, when asked whether the United States' definition of “reproductive health" includes abortion, Clinton replied that, "We happen to think that family planning is an important part of women's health and reproductive health includes access to abortion that I believe should be safe, legal and rare."
In her remarks last week Clinton specifically emphasized the importance of the abortion component of the Obama foreign policy by saying, “One of President Obama’s first actions in office was to overturn the Mexico City policy, which greatly limited our ability to fund family planning programs.” The 1984 Mexico City Policy required all non-governmental organizations that receive federal funding to refrain from performing or promoting abortion services, as a method of family planning, in other countries. In fact, notwithstanding Clinton’s assertions, the ICPD outcome document likewise rules out abortion as a method of family planning.
Despite the economic downturn, Clinton announced that “The U.S. Congress recently appropriated more than $648 million in foreign assistance to family planning and reproductive health programs worldwide. …the largest allocation in more than a decade.” The “centerpiece” of the Obama foreign policy, she said, would be the Global Health Initiative. She said the initiative “commits us to spending $63 billion over six years.” This will link the reproductive rights agenda to high profile global health concerns. Launched by the World Economic Forum in 2002, the initiative is supposed to focus on HIV/AIDs, tuberculosis, and malaria."
Anybody who argued that Republicans did nothing to prevent abortion have been proven wrong. They did a lot and it is being systematically undone by the Obama administration - the most liberal administration in American history. This was not the change we were hoping for.
